As many of you know, I have been super lax about doing a weekly bumpdate (sorry!). I have been so busy with Cam, changing jobs, and being exhausted that I just haven’t had much time or energy to relish this pregnancy. I know that sounds horrible, but it’s definitely been an adjustment! Read More
Cam’s first fiesta was by far one of the best days ever! First of all, he is an (early) June baby, so the weather was perfect; but the theme was EVERYTHING! I am so not a “theme girl”, but can you go wrong with cactuses, tacos, and colorful decor? No. No you cannot. Mexican Fiesta, it is! Check out this fun day!Read More
Okay, so I know I have been MIA lately, but this little surprise has been kicking my butt! We are pregnant, again! I have been exhausted, nauseous, and sick on and off. Every day is a different story. Plus, I am trying to chase around a toddler, so that has been an interesting journey. I cannot imagine what it’ll be like with two. I. am. terrified.Read More
As we prepare for Cam’s first birthday (cue the tears), we decided to do a little fiesta-themed cake smash fun! We chose to keep our set super simple since I wanted Cam and the cactuses to stand out. My purpose is to put some of these photos in frames out for his first birthday fiesta. However, I also wanted them to put in our house as well. Therefore, I wanted to keep the set pretty neutral, but still fun.Read More
It’s so easy-being at home snuggling with your little one, trying to clean the house or shower between naps. This is home. This is comfort. I totally feel you- I am the biggest homebody sometimes- however, it’s SO important to get out with your baby/kids and I’m going to tell you why and how!Read More
The last time I did a post about nursing and troubleshooting your breast pump (see here), I got a lot of great feedback and even MORE questions. I decided I would compose some of the most frequently asked mama questions following my last post. These questions have everything to do with mommin’, nursing, biting, tantrums, etc. And I promise, I will keep them coming, as long as you all keep those questions coming!
As you all know, I got my hair cut. This may not seem like a big deal, but it was HUGE for me. I have had long hair for as long as I can remember (I’m serious, like kindergarten). After having Cam my hair was falling out, dead, annoying, and being yanked constantly. I was over it. I never thought I would be brave enough, but I went in and told my hairdresser “just cut it off, I’m done”. So she did! Now, styling it has been so much fun!
Mark and I knew we were having a boy from the time I was about 15 weeks pregnant. However, we didn’t want to tell anyone until this shower, so it was super important to me to have a neutral baby shower. I cannot begin to explain how perfect my baby shower was. It was simple, neutral, and just plain perfect. My sisters-in-law totally nailed it. Read More
Ok, so we all know that there are gifts people register for when they have their first baby that make you scratch your head>> is this really necessary? I’ve had my own baby shower, but I’ve also been an attendee at plenty of them as well. I have gathered a list of things that make me say “ohmygosh, yes! I need these!” and a list that makes me think “um, really? “. Of course, we’re not listing off diapers + wipes + carseats (the essentials); these are items a lot of people don’t think of right off the bat. I think this would be great to look at before registering for your own baby shower, or buying a gift for another mama-to-be.Read More
Oh, what a whirlwind nursing can be. As a previous mother/baby nurse, and now a full-time mama, I have gained a lot of experience with breastfeeding, pumping, etc. I am, by no means, an expert; but I thought I would answer some of the most commonly asked questions about this topic.Read More
